GET YOUR HOME AUTUMN READY

The cosy season is upon us. As the nights draw in and the temperature drops, it's the perfect time to prepare your home for the autumn and winter months.

As we make this seasonal shift are you often wondering how to add that extra layer of comfort to your home? Perhaps you don't have a fireplace and are desperately trying to add that warm charm? Our designers have put together 7 quick and easy tips for creating the ultimate autumnal ambience for any home.

1. Update cushion covers

This can be an effective and simple way to switch up your interior without huge cost implications. Try layering tactile cushions in earthy autumnal tones with soft chunky throws for a really cosy living space.

2. Add plenty of texture

Tactile fabrics are great for warmth. Accessorise your living space with soft blankets and throws. Use a wicker basket to keep them when in, when not in use, for a lovely cosy aesthetic.

3. Switch up fresh flowers for dried foliage

Preserved eucalyptus smells amazing and dried arrangements are extremely low maintenance.

4. Burn your candles!

Earthy and aromatic scents create an inviting autumnal feel. Remember the first burn is important to ensure you get the most out of your candles.

5. Update your table dressing

Soften your dining table with a lovely neutral tablecloth. Layer the table with natural materials and organic shapes such as woven placemats, subtle asymmetrical crockery, and a splash of autumnal colour like rust.

6. Add more lighting

Lighting can really transform a space and help set a mood. Having lots of light sources in a room, including accent lighting creates a welcoming space. Using dimmable lights means you can play with light levels for the perfect atmosphere too.

7. Invest in your outdoor space

Add new lighting, a heating source such as a fire pit, and lots of cosy blankets. It's easy to neglect your outdoor spaces in the colder months, but they can be used all year round. Think toasted marshmallows and outdoor movies with a cup of hot chocolate!
